This style is sized in European, and most folks are wearing their regular EURO size for length.  The toe box depth is touch generous in this style, allowing for some wiggle room.  The width is truly best suited for a broader foot, average to above average.  If there is anything flat or narrow about your foot, you will likely struggle finding the proper fit regardless of what size you choose.

For calf width, the size 36 measures 15.25″ in circumference at the top of the 14-inch-tall shaft.  These measurements are based on a sample size 36, and the calf circumference will increase slightly with each foot size.
